Call of Duty®: Ghosts Extinction Reveal Trailer
CONSTRUCTION OF REALITY:
The portrayal of the world that Call of duty: Ghost Extinction trailer shows is definitely an unrealistic view of the world. It is clear about that because of how it shows creatures (the Cryptids) as the main enemy, and it is clear that they do not exist in real life. Yes this is how they intended to so this because this is suppose to be a futuristic event, so they definitely meant to show it this way and it is clear that this is not suppose to be a realistic view of the world. The reason that reality is portrayed for this video it to show the problem of Extinction that the world is facing and it attempting to intrigue you in order to get the viewer to buy the video game. It does fit the movies meaning because it is showing a really big problem and that it must be fixed.
CODES AND CONVENTIONS:
The stereotypes that the trailer for extinction shows that all action movies have to be all about action. The way it shows this is how the majority of the trailer is action and violence with an interesting story mode, which majority of action trailers have. They also have music that makes it sound serious and make it sound like the squad is in danger. Another way they follow the stereotype of the action genre is how loud and dramatic they make the music louder and action parts. They make the whole thing an interesting and entertaining to watch.
CREEDS AND VALUES:
One creed that this video shows is how that the world is wrecked. Another creed that is expressed through this video is how we own the world not any other kind of animals, we are the ones who are in charge. The life styles that this video shows is that the world is not perfect and that we choose how to make it. Like in the video, the squad chose to go in there an kill all aliens, they weren't forced to, it is a matter of choice and they chose to stop the aliens. groups are portrayed different In the video by how they are all working together. An good example is the squad, they work perfect together though the whole thing, where must people are not so cooperative and would probably argue about how to compete their mission. Basically the trailer shows that we are all united to defeat one common enemy.
COMMERCIAL:
Yes this is an effective way to sell the game. The reason is it gets the watcher very excited about the game and all ready to play it. For example I have already beaten the game but just after watching that video i want to go back and play it all over again. The target audience for this group is probably from ages 13 to 30. The I think this is because they want to have a big audience to sell to, but at the same time since young children are so impressionable, they don't want to give them such a violent game so that is why they tried to target an older audience more late teens and adults instead of kids. I think that the music does fit the video because of how it sounds so serious and doesn't make it seam like a joke but at the same time makes it look very fun fro older teens, while stooping young kids from playing it making it a very fitting music for a serious video. If your still not convinced about how serious this game is portrayed as. link about: The first squad That is what I think about the game call of duty ghosts extinction trailer is like.
